About

Welcome! I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Applied Analysis and Numerical Simulation, University of Stuttgart, working with Prof. Christian Rohde. I earned my PhD from the Department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, under the supervision of Dr. T. Raja Sekhar. My research focuses on the analysis of hyperbolic partial differential equations and related problems in applied mathematics, including gas dynamics, thin film flows, astrophysics, and shallow water equations. For a detailed list of my publications, please see the Research section or my ResearchGate and Google Scholar profiles. I am always happy to discuss my research—please feel free to reach out via email or the links below.

Research Interests: Modelling, Analysis and Numerics for nonlinear PDEs

  • Applied Analysis: Analysis of nonlinear hyperbolic partial differential equations
  • Mathematical modelling and analysis of complex transport phenomena.
  • Development of numerical schemes and their convergence analysis.
  • Development of accurate higher-order solvers for complex dynamical problems.
I mostly work on the mathematical and numerical analysis of first-order hyperbolic balance laws, which capture the essence of many complex physical phenomena. A key challenge in their study is that, even from smooth initial data, shock waves and other discontinuities can form in finite time. During my PhD, I addressed well-posedness and regularity problems for different multidimensional initial-boundary value problems. In particular, I analyzed sonic–supersonic patch boundary problems arising in transonic flow and gas-expansion problems for multidimensional potential flow equations. I also developed and analyzed a purely hyperbolic multi-dimensional system, which governs the first-order dynamics of thin film flows. During my postdoc, I started learning the rich theory of numerics for such systems to extend my horizon even more. I have since focused on designing robust, high-order numerical schemes for balance laws and rigorously studying their stability and convergence. I am also learning the tools of Data-driven modelling and control problems for such systems. Looking ahead, I am eager to tackle turbulence modeling and to develop efficient, provably accurate algorithms for such complex systems. I thrive on learning new methods and advancing my toolkit in applied analysis and computational mathematics.
